Fascination of Wartburg

Oil on canvas, 130x162cm, 2017
This painting is about a family photograph from 1960, showing a friends’ reunion on a neighbor yard to help him fix an old Wartburg car.
This is a typical masculine scene, depicted in a deep-grey atmosphere, and the butterfly-woman comes to enlighten it with her presence.
It is a subtitle irony in this work as a critique of masculine mentality where the seduction has always a women’s face.
